Your dad, like mine, is too late. They voted demoncrats in with their vote in 1960 and 1964. I am sure both cheered the Immigration act of 1965 and the Civil rights act of 1964, if they even knew they were passed at all. The democrats were traitors back then.

Both of these laws fundamentally changed the USA. We are now seeing in our society the effects of those laws. I could expand but it is complicated.

Here is a book that explains how the civil rights act is effectively a 2nd Constitution.

Ours dads are directly responsible for the destruction of our country. Both of our dads are also traitors to the US Constitution for their votes. Tell your dad that and see how he reacts. Mine did not react well.

There is a quote that comes to mind, “No drop of water thinks it is responsible for the flood.” Our dads’ votes for the democrats in the 60s where drops of water.

When I was in High School...I dared to criticize FDR and even went so far to explain how his socialist Fabian economic policies extended the Great Depression by at least 10 years. I also discussed how he cozy-upped to the Soviets and was sympathetic to Commies. It was as if I had committed blasphemy. I got that “where did we go wrong look” from my parents.

Very well stated! Joma89!

My parents never influenced my voting, always republican, since Nixon. I don't have a clue how my parents voted.

However, I had uncles and cousins who voted straight demo, for decades, and their ancestors as well. Interestingly, not a single one of them served a single day in the US military.

They all had the same attitudes about blacks and hispanic. Today, they would be called racists.

I have known lots of people at work who talked ‘conservative’ but would proudly tell you they voted strictly democrat, as did ALL in their families. Amazing to me, how some family traditions pass to the next generation. I would ask these guys, “so if you granddad was a bank robber or horse thief, that is what you would do?”
That question usually ended the discussion.
