President Trump will field questions from voters at a Fox News town hall event in Scranton, Pa., next week, the network announced Friday.

The Thursday event will be moderated by anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. It will mark a rare foray into such a setting for Trump — his first time holding a town hall with voters since his 2016 campaign.

The appearance at the Scranton Cultural Center will also mark the first time Trump will take questions from Baier and MacCallum since interviews with them in June 2018 and April 2017, respectively. He has appeared numerous times since on Fox News, but mostly on opinion programs such as "Fox & Friends" and "Hannity."

But Biden claims Scranton is his “Home Town.”

I guess that means nobody will show up for Trump’s Town Hall? Right?

Three paragraphs about the Town Hall and five paragraphs reporting recent polls saying he’s behind the Democrat candidates. The Hill just can’t help themselves. Polls or no polls, there is no way he loses in Pa.

Looking forward to it. Like I do all of his Rallies.
Thanks Mr. President.

He does a press conference several times a week. Granted they’re under the whine of rotary aircraft engines, but he does do them. He’s been more accessible to the press than any President I’ve ever seen.

Yep Biden claims Scranton as his home town. The family lived there before they ended up in Delaware.

I am glad he is doing this. He needs to win back PA in 2020.

Democrats would either have to lie, reveal who they really are, or get manipulated softball questions. For them it’d be a disaster. They have everything to fear. On the other hand, Trump has NOTHING to hide, and can be open and truthful. People will relate to him. He has nothing to fear. Plus, he will hear from the people he serves. This is a GREAT strategy.

Great idea - but Trump needs to be careful of Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, just in case the RINO Paul Ryan issues orders to ambush him.

President Trump doesn't trust either of these two left leaning supposed 'journalists' because he watches what they do.

Trump is smarter than any talking head on TV, remember what he did to megankelly.

Good move. Bloomie has been saturating the airwaves non stop here. That an his other never Trump PACs. If he can get the Scranton Wilkes-Barre counties like he did last year, Phithadelphia and Spittsburg will not matter.

Agree, esp Baier. Watched their town hall with Amy Klobuchar. They allowed her to pontificate w/o challenging her....even when she implied Pres Trump was supportive of the KKK by his comment is Charleston. I tweeted Baier re this disgraceful behavior since, imho, he & Martha KNOW Trump’s comments at that time were not in support of the KKK.

It's much easier to listen to the engines whine than Jim Acosta's whine.

Scranton? Good move

Baier and McCallum? Bad move. They are both Trump haters. Go back to the debates they hosted in 2015-2016. Both of them fed loaded and opinionated questions to Trump, just as bad as MeAgain Kelly.

Expect questions like “Given your hatred of blacks and illegal aliens, why should hate-free Scranton Catholics vote for you?”

Notice how Trump starts it in Pennsylvania. It forces the DemocRATS to respond. Smart move.

Biden has little claim over Scranton other than being born there.

His parents bugged out in 1952 when he was 9 1/2, before the area really went depressed with the closure of the mines and loss of industries like textiles.

Scranton/Lackawanna County, heavily democratic since the 1930’s (John L Lewis and the United Mineworkers Union), barely went democrat in 2016, after declines in the formerly huge democrat majorities in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012, when Scranton Joe was actually on the ballot as VP in the last two.

Next-door Luzerne county, another formerly democrat bastion, went 60% for Trump. Trump’s two rallies there, 12 miles from Scranton, were typical Trump rallies with thousands left outside.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton, who also claims Scranton ties, had such a small turnout in Scranton that they had to move in the wall partitions to squeeze the crowd and make it look packed.

-- Trump needs to be careful of Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum --

They are no match. I was hoping the insufferable Chris Wallace had the assignment. I'd watch that for sure. Baier amd McCallum, I can't stand either one of them either, but expect the show will be boring.
