I think you are on to something with regards to warm climate. I haven’t heard of too many cases in Central or South America or Mexico. As winter turns into spring in the northern hemisphere, hopefully this thing peters out.
They did it, in part, by giving druggies three opportunities to get clean through rehab. Strike three meant exile to one of the tiny islets (a square mile or so in size) offshore. A boat will back-up a couple of times a month to drop off food and other basics and remove the overdosed dead for cremation.
The message quickly got around that Singapore society had low tolerance for supporting such lifestyles.
Mosquitoes and chiggers, here for a purpose; that purpose just not known. To be more specific, fire ants should be included as well. Food for the birds; mankind’s tormentors?
Gotta scratch.
Americans have for a long time smirked at mobs of people walking around with white face masks on.
In Korea in the 1960s, particularly in the winter, it was common to see most of the school children heading off to school wearing the little white face masks. It surely helped stem the spread of colds, flu and other communicable infections among the school kids, among whom likely few thought wearing the masks was silly.
Oh crap don’t say chiggers! I remember getting those as a kid while playing baseball in a field with high grass in places. The ball would get his in there and we would go in and get it. Damn did I scratch and hurt!!! Thank God Mom finally ran a hot-hot bath and threw the Epsom salt to it, relief!!!
As a child, we found applying clear nail polish to the bite would help to kill the little bugger. The bite still was annoying. In later years, a hot hot HOT! shower would help with the itching - for a short time. Then a second hot shower. The sad fact is one cannot see them, only feel them when they bite. At least with ticks you have a chance of finding them before they can do damage. That shower on those bites....almost orgasmic. The nerves have been moved to outside the skin and bare for any stimulation. The little red critters flock and rove until they come to a barrier (ie: a waistband or belt or the elastic on a sock). Scores of bites in these areas. They seem to enjoy the taste of tender spots. Applying sulphur has been suggested to avoid them. Apply around your ankles to bar them from roaming higher up your body. In a few weeks, the temps really climb, they then cannot be found. Dead or migrating, they are no longer around to torment.
Add Africa to that list. I hope. But who knows what China created that’s different than your normal flu virus. Attacking more males and not really affecting the young except mild cases. A lot of other things may play a role in the deaths in China. I read most males smoke so may have compromised lungs to begin with.
The US needs to do this.
Yeah, them fire ants can sting!
I really hate graffiti but I don’t want to see people caned. Maybe deep down I do but it’s not really a fair punishment.
I dont know that. Heres something to consider. Blacks in US have a much higher prison rate than blacks in African nations; generally less than 100/100k. US is 655/100k.
US has one of the worst legal and police states on the planet, disgusting and the uniparty big government is to blame.
