NATO ambassadors will meet in Brussels at Turkey's request on Friday to hold consultations about developments in Syria, the alliance said after the killing of 33 Turkish soldiers in a Syrian air strike in the Idlib region.

Turkey is hosing whole area around Idlib allegedly few rounds are going towards Ruskies installations;
Having extended forces into areas actively contested by the Syrian regime with Russian support, Turkey now finds itself in a bigger conflict than it expected or is able to pull off on its own. This development puts Turkey in need of US and European support and is favorable to our interests. It follows logically from Trump’s earlier and much-criticized withdrawal of US forces from areas claimed by the Kurdish PPK.

Assad regime has been conducting ethnic cleansing & seeks to drive millions of Syrians out of Idlib. These people will try to escape to Turkey and Europe. Already hosting close to 4 million refugees, we do not have the capacity and resources to allow entry to another million
Looks like all clear
Russia ready to work on improving security of Turkish troops in Syria: Lavrov
After Russian jets bombed Turkish Forces. No Problem! All Clear!
While I'm no fan of Erdogan, the Syrian refugee problem is huge. Turkey has a right to push these refugees back into Syria, with force if required. I suspect Trump is sympathetic to that issue, even if he doesn't outright support their incursions. If Europe is going to stand on the sidelines like they have done for almost a decade, they should prepare for 2 or 3 million more refugees. Economic sanctions against Syria and Russia, or even a short scuffle in Syria, would be cheaper in the long run. Hard to understand how Europe can be so weak and unwilling to stand up for themselves.
Erdogan wants NATO approval to his ex post facto invasion of Syria. Erdowan, who is putative leader of the international Muslim Brotherhood, cannot forget the Homs massacre when Assad’s father slaughtered 20,000 Syrians aligned with the Ikhwan. Nor can Turkey forget that Syria formed part of the Caliphate. Now, the hubris-driven Turk wants revenge and he’s getting dead bodies for his trouble. I’m afraid on this one Trump has a blind spot.
Have to admit this one is confusing along with Libya ;
We should have listened to Washington (George) : stay out of foreign entanglements. . .
“Syria is threatening to “open the gates” to allow millions of Syrian refugees into Europe. This is NOT a NATO problem, it is an EU-Turkey problem.”
Hmmm.... Wonder if Iran will try to move some of their Coronavirus victims to the EU?
Turkey under its current regime should not be in nato.
“The USA has no dog in this fight. “
In a classic move, Turkey is taking the attention of their people off domestic problems and focusing it on an external enemy. They are trying to leverage NATO membership into helping them as they have bitten off more than they can chew. The refugees are pawns. The correct answer is to seal their Greek border and tell Turkey to pound sand. But, they never listen to me.
It made sense not to foment the civil war to start with.
Not to mention that Turkey is currently in Libya and it is not smooth either. Erdogan somehow resembles Mussolini and there is no Hitler to save the day.
Looks like the whole Roman army will help destroy the only decent nation containing Islam. A nation where Islam and Christian were and are allowed to live side-by-side with each other.
Sad that USA is still in NATO and the Roman Empire continues to crush all opposition, whether they be the bad guys or not.
The turks have reopened the so called refugee flood gates on the EU and the turks are still in NATO? And NATO sends someone to talk to dem?
Get our Nukes out of there and let the turks burn down with the rest of the muzzies in the ME!
