By Saturday night, we will know if South Carolina is the firewall that ex-Vice President Joe Biden and the rest of the Democratic Party establishment needed to prevent Sen. Bernie Sanders’ socialist revolution from consuming the party in an uncontrollable conflagration.
Biden needs the Palmetto State to be a firestorm that sucks the oxygen out of Tom Steyer, Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar. Above all, he needs to fight the “Bern” with fire.
The latest Clemson University poll shows Biden with a commanding 18-point lead over his socialist rival. For now, it appears African-American Democrats are ignoring Biden’s poor finishes and sticking by former President Barack Obama’s right-hand man.

Give credit where it is due; blacks could’ve put Hillary over the top in PA, MI, and WI (and into the White House) - and they didn’t.
Trump scored a home run when he asked them what they had to lose by supporting him; I believe enough reflected on that and decided he couldn’t be worse than the Dem masters they blindly supported for half a century.

Enough being about 15%, I’m guessing.
But that still means 85% vote to stay on the Planation.
I hope Trump gets enough. But we will see.
As the black birth rate has fallen (since “cash for kids” ended in 1996), I wouldn’t be surprised if increasing numbers of young blacks see the Dems offering nothing - except to Hispanics. More and more have had their eyes opened, especially after they realized they’d been scammed during 8 years of Obama. It was no accident that “Black Lies Matter” formed in the twilight of his presidency, when many blacks - especially young ones - realized they were worse off, and even more marginalized/isolated, than they were when he took office.
Why? For the life of me, I cannot understand why blacks want to see President Trump defeated. Blacks are doing much better with President Trump in office than they ever did under Obama, Clinton or any other Democrat. When is black America going to wake up to the fact that Democrats are not their friends? In 2016 the entire Democratic slate was pure white. In this election cycle, every black candidate has been eliminated, and then the DNC changes the rules so an elderly white billionaire can swoop in. When are blacks going to connect the dots?
