We should go ahead and shut down air travel with any country with more than 100 cases.
Sounds fine, but the horse has already left the barn.
The virus is alive and well in every US large city by now—it is just going to have to run its course.
It will be a rough March, but hopefully warmer weather will improve the situation.
Agreed and close at least the southern border.
But shutting down travel, for a while, is a good idea and not just for places where 100 or more are now infected.

Yep, it has “spread undetected” to a grand total of one person.
No, one person was detected. How many it's spread to undetected is "an utter mystery", as the comment you replied to said.
I am claiming it is there but not yet detected.
The reason for that claim is because there have been huge holes in international travel since January.
One example is Thailand, where planes from Wuhan could land and those passengers could take flights to anywhere in the world before there any known significant Thai cases.
Any large city would have people who have traveled to countries where the disease was common _before_ we knew it was common.
In addition, our testing has been haphazard and there are technical problems.
It is virtually statistically impossible for any large city to have escaped the virus at this point.
By the time there are any detected cases there will be hundreds if not thousands of undetected cases.
That is just how it works.
This is not anyone’s fault imho—it is just the way it is.

More hysteria. The extent of spread for any disease is always unknown. This is more shiite like the “it’s possible” headlines.
The reason it is unknown is because most people have no symptoms or mild symptoms.

Cases/hospitalized/deaths/children deaths
No calls for action of any sort.

I wonder if they can do CT scan, I am reading China rely on CT scans to positively identify the infected.
I was also reading about drive through testing in South Korea. I wonder what that consist of.

You don’t see the calls for action about flu because they are everywhere.
How many times have you seen the flu vaccine advertised? How many times has your doctor recommended it?
How many public service ads have you seen?
How many news broadcasts recommend getting the flu shot?
My company offers free flu shots, that I get every year.
I couldn’t begin to count, but I know it’s a lot.
If there were hundreds on house quarantine across this country in communities there would be school closures AND there aren’t any!! Everyone on this site needs to calm down THESE BASTARDS are creating this hype to get Trump AND you are jumping on their train!!!
I’d really like to have home tests for both flu and coronavirus.
I don’t want to visit a doctor’s office over a cold. But would like early identification if it’s something worse.
