We need to discourage the use of the term “assault weapons” and substitute “home defense arms” for long guns and “personal defense arms” for handguns.
The use of “assault” seems to indicate going out and gratuitously attacking, which is so seldom the case that it is negligible. But listening to the enemdia, it is a frequent occurrence nationwide.
I appear to have responded on the wrong thread...but the sentiment remains!
