The danger is that we’re through the looking glass on monetary policy. By every rational, traditional, conservative theory on how economics works, we should have experienced a catastrophe by now caused by out-of-control deficit spending.
It hasn’t happened. And it’s hard to see it happening in the foreseeable future. We print, and print. And spend, and spend. And the rest of the world pretends those dollars have value and continue to play along. Because they are terrified of the day the music stops and they don’t have a chair.
They will get away with it. For much longer than any of you think.
