well, they asked for it.
“.. Scalia savaged Obamacare, and by extension Obama and the Democrats, in comments from the Bench. Yet he didn’t recuse himself.”
Was this during the relevant oral argument? Did he attack them from the bench by name and/or specifically calling out the party in derogatory terms? Or was he attacking the legislation that they passed and obozo signed in such a way that it was a cover for his personal animosity toward the parties? I don’t remember any such time Scalia did such a thing, but will research later if needed. I vaguely remember his detractors screaming for recusing himself (he didn’t) on a not so significant case where one of the parties may have gone hunting or fishing with him in the past. I don’t remember any significant criticism of Scalia after the decision that because of his vote on the case, the decision or his opinion was tainted.
Unlike me, you apparently don’t see any benefit from POTUS tweet about these 2 justices as it won’t cause a self-imposed recusal by the offending justices. I don’t have a problem with your viewpoint, even though mine is different as to the usefulness of what I see as an imperfect benefit, but a benefit nonetheless.
