They work cheap, send all their money back to their 3rd world stinkhole, and we get to pay to feed them while they drive down wages. What a bargain! what could go wrong?
I talked to a guy who used to make a good living as an electrician. Illegals who are unlicensed go into a housing development, live in the house while they do the electric and then move to the next one. He can’t bid a job that cheap and no one can make a living as long as that is what they are competing against. This is why you can’t make a living hanging drywall either.
So the Dems who keep saying they want everyone to make a living wage destroy living wages with illegals and want us to pay them welfare on top of it.

I worked on a large-ish commercial project in the DC area in the late-1980s that had a huge drywall crew that were all Mexicans, almost certainly illegals. It has been going on that long.
I like Mike Rowe’s “Dirty Jobs”, but he seems to ignore how many of those fields no longer hire Americans. Americans will do any job, but the wages have definitely been suppressed, and jobs don’t offer the benefits legal employment would.
While they weren't really producing the superior quality that he was offering, on the surface it looked like they were. My brother had to close his business and, with it, the jobs of young American men, black and white, who were getting training in quality construction techniques and helping to support their families.
Couldn’t the electrician report this? On top of being illegal aliens, these people are doing work for which they are not properly licensed and there are penalties for that, particluarly in tenant and commercial situations.
