“Consider this is mostly, almost all asian deaths.. They are more prone to have serious cases and die from this than those with european genetics.”
I keep seeing people post this, but where is the supporting study? Could it be simply a case of most of the infections to date have been in Asia - where mostly Asians live? I’ve seen one incomplete study that ranked susceptibility by race, but in no way said this was a predominantly Asian thing. Smoking was a bigger factor. Is there a better, more complete study that has the racial data and controls for environmental factors?

I’ve been to Asia, and by gosh, you’re right! There are mostly Asians there. And needless to say, if the bug got a 3 month head start in Asia, then there will probably be more Asians infected, as the rest of the world tries to catch up. Additionally, the rest of the world will have some idea of what’s coming and will at least have the opportunity to take steps to minimize/mitigate its effects.
Re:26 - best post of the thread. Thanks.
Ever been there? In the summer? the air quality around their cities is some of the worst in the world.
You don’t have to be a smoker to have compromised lung problems, just being a kid raised there has compromised your lungs compared to, say, your typical Kansas resident.
