another reason why taxes are so high, many of the paid Police and Fire Chiefs get "golden parachutes" of up to $500k, when they retire. It has to do with approved contract negotiations through the years and the towns can't do anything about it because they were dumb enough to approve these contracts.

I got those goodies when I retired, from a private employer. except for the free guns part.
