Bernie is not going to win.

And we said the same thing about some guy named Barack.

I read this AM that The Commie is up +6 over Trump in the average of all major polls. (I know, we don't trust polls and they said that the Pantsuit Princess was "absolutely" going to win in 2016, and Trump hasn't really started to turn his cannon on The Commie yet, but still..)

It's worth reading the comments sections on MSM articles to see what people outside of FR are thinking. It's staggering the amount of sheer, inexplicable HATRED there is for POTUS on some boards..so, while we all are 100% behind the guy, looking outside of FR to see what others are saying is a worthwhile thing to so also - and when you do, it's not impossible that a radical like Bernie "could" actually win, just like Obamba did. Thank our public schools and universities, not to mention the MSM and Dem politicians for several decades of leftist indoctrination..

This country is radically different from the country that elected Ronald Reagan.

Did those polls break the vote down by battleground states? We know Sanders will win California, New York and some solid blue states. The election hinges on rust belt states like Pennsylannia and Wisconsin.

Completely different situation. Obama was a unifying candidate. Every faction inside the heavily divided Democrat party agreed to a truce, and supported Obama (a minor sect of Hillary supporters excepted -- far too small in number to matter).

Sanders, on the other hand, takes a sledgehammer to the already fractured party. He has about ~30% of (a shrinking) the shrinking Democratic base fully energized for him; 30% disliking him, but who will probably end up supporting him, albeit not particularly passionately (don't expect 100% turnout among this group); the rest are scared of him, oppose him, and hate him. They may not vote for Trump, but they are NOT going to vote in the kind of amounts he needs.

Obama, on the other hand was a turnout machine. He also appealed to independents (with Sanders, independents will go a minimum 4:1 for Trump). Even a sizeable chunk of Republicans liked Obama. Romney, and McCain, meanwhile, were pretty much the antonym for "turnout machine". Even their "base" could only barely tolerate them.

Sanders would lose the general. He would lose badly. He would lose so badly the Republicans would handily win the house. Sanders would lose states that haven't been competitive in 30 years. Sanders' loss would have negative consequences for the Democrats for a generation. Sanders could even permanently divide the Democratic party (a party made up of groups that neither like, nor trust, each other).

Sanders cannot win. 0%. Not even .01%.

It's worth reading the comments sections on MSM articles to see what people outside of FR are thinking.

And it is not just the sheer hatred. It also is echoing of flat out falsehoods that they are fed nonstop from the media.

Just this morning I was seeing posts about Russia, Russia, Russia! They hadn't heard (or comprehended) that the Russia thing was intending to help Bernie and not Trump.

Unless, I guess, they know that by helping Bernie they are actually helping Trump. But from the comments I don't think they are thinking that far ahead.

But you have a point. Outside of the echo chamber of Free Republic it is a very different world with very different rules and "truths."
