If you had told me in 2012 that I would be glad Romney and Ryan lost to Obama and Biden, I would have asked for some of whatever you're on. Yet here we are in 2020, and here I am thankful that they lost.
Sadly enough, I have to agree with you. An actual democrat/socialist is better to deal with than a .... person like Romney or Ryan.
And regardless of who replaces Trump on January 20, 2025, it feels inevitable that we will be trading down.
