Not all classical music and opera were created equal. The bad stuff, and there was PLENTY of bad stuff, never made it past the first performance.
The music from the "Masters" is still around because it was just too good to fade away.
"Rock n' roll" will fade away as well.
The Masters will be listened to in the year 5020...and on.
Our musicians simply are NOT taught to compose any music beyond the three-minute ditty for advertising. Music of ANY length is put to a movie.
It's a shame because our current musicians HAVE much talent but they must be taught to use it beyond ads and movies.
