Solomon is said to have had 700 wives and 300 concubines. If he slept with all of them that’s 1000 sexual partners. He reigned 40 years but seems to have been pretty young when David died, so may have been under 60 years old when he died. I Kings 11.41 reports his death but doesn’t give the cause. Cancer because of too many sexual partners?

FWIW a hugh number of the population has herpes or HPV (or both) in one form or another(there are many strains of both). Often contraction has nothing to do with sex. HPV is everywhere in today’s world.

I would guess there is also a rough correlation between number of sexual partners and the risk of accumulating lead in oneself in quantities of (typically) 2 grams mass or more.

So are promiscuity and risky lifestyle choices unlinked?

I suspect that even if additions of sexual partners isn’t a direct cause of the cancers, or isn’t a direct cause of a large portion of the cancers, that limiting sexual partners will commonly reduce many of the other risky behaviors on average.

That’d require more studies to prove or disprove though.

Regarding Solomon, One would expect not too many sexual partners “from the wild”.
