Oh, and that 15% is for the past week. It was higher, either that was an artifact of a thin data base, or today’s lower mortality comes from “improved” reporting, or better treatment.

If you isolate Hubei, the mortality is much lower. With today’s numbers, mortality outside of Mainland China is 3% if you only consider dead and recovered. I’m concerned that so many people are taking a LONG time to recover. It seems for many, this virus has been a long and very difficult process. I wonder how many survivors will be left with debilitating cardio-pulmonary conditions. In China, they would let such people die. In the west, we will spend billions to keep them alive.
