this may be a a bad example. In my experience with my father and others, many men over 80 who get prostate cancer decide to let it run its course.

But it’s THEIR decision, not the decision of someone behind a desk somewhere.

That sort of decision shouldn’t be made solely on the basis of age. I’ve met people over 90 who have very full and active lives and some who even still work. OTOH I’ve met people in their 60’s who are just plain OLD.

Age should only be one factor in making decisions, not the deciding factor
