Three Card Economy
You guys know what Three Card Monte is, I’m sure. I was listening to dim candidates bashing the economy this morning in reports on last night’s debate. “It’s not as good as you’re being told it is,” they all said. “It’s just the stock market, and the stock market isn’t for the regular people we represent.” And they pointed to other made-up indicators as well.
Now think about it. Go back six months, a year, two years ago. Every time Trump or the repubs pointed out how great the economy was going, ALL the dims said, “Well, that’s the result of Obama’s policies. He’s the one who’s really responsible. Trump just hasn’t screwed it up yet.”
Uh...wait a minute. The economy we have right now is essentially the same as the one two years ago...strong, growing, getting better every day, etc. So, if the economy right now ISN’T great, as the dims now claim, it has to be Obama’s fault, right? THEY’VE been telling us for three years that THIS is Obama’s economy. They want us to believe two different things about the same economy and assign credit for it to different people depending on which claim they are making.
