Basically correct but misses the point. Fossil is not clean, although the left has coopted the word. Also extra CO2 winds up in the ocean with pH lowered from 8.2 to 8.1 in the last century. The pH was headed lower but at a much slower rate for the past million years. By 2100 we will lower the pH to the 7.7 or so. Once you add/subtract the daily cycle of about 1 unit that gives us a 7.2 at the low end which is pretty low.

Hmmm..at least you haven’t been drinking the kool aid...merely sipping it, IMHO.

PS - How’s that acid rain working out for you? The leftist progressives are quite imaginative when coming up with new boogie men to mislead the public into supporting their efforts to weaken and destroy Western Civilization.

From your link: "While it is true that, all-other-factors-held-equal, seawater pH should decline as atmospheric CO2 levels rise…"

All other factors are never held equal."

But most other factors are mostly equal. For the most part higher atmospheric CO2 does produce lower ocean pH. There are many other factors that raise and lower pH, mainly ocean currents which control upwelling. Like PDO as pointed out in that article. There's also a diurnal cycle close to shore of 1 unit of pH.

Mostly though the argument presented in the article is that pH of 8.1 is not "acidic" and 8.2 dropping to 8.1 is not "acidification". That's true. But it's a semantic argument.

BTW, Koolaid is pH 3, and 1/3 of the cost of my coal plant (which I own 50% of because of where I live) was for acid rain reduction. That's some myth they spent that money on.
