To me the failure to prosecute the obviously guilty McCabe is a bad sign.
McCabe was the “low hanging fruit” who LIED and is used often as an example of corruption by conservatives.
The good guys had better get going (Durham and Barr). But if they are Sessions style wimps or Deep State good ol’ boys then the anti-civil war II side will have lost its ammo belt in the river.
EVEN if this was on the up and up, and given that the following
*Lerner
*Awans
*Deep Stroke and Pageboy
*Comey
*McCabre
*any of the leakers or the news media who got the leaks
have NOT been prosecuted, the record suggests Barrstool/Durham will do nothing.
But let’s say Durham really is doing this level of investigation-—just for the sake of argument.
It will be VERY VERY DIFFICULT to prosecute anyone for “information analysis” (which they can claim) as opposed to sedition or obstruction of justice. The culprits can just say, “no, we were only just interpreting information.” I think even IF Durham is legit, proving intention and a “crime” here would be under the best of circumstances incredibly hard.
I see more of a “decline to prosecute” in the future.
“To me the failure to prosecute the obviously guilty McCabe is a bad sign.”
They didn’t say “never”. They didn’t say they wouldn’t prosecute him for OTHER crimes (like TREASON).
He got away with this minor whatever it was.
Why give someone who you are about to hang, a parking ticket?
