all former service members are subject to recall to active duty: I know that. I was subject to that, but I am no longer. The period of time has varied over the years. There are other restrictions, but most concern government jobs and are short term, for one year or less. Even when you are subject to recall, the limitations are few. One guy that I know became the Minister of Defense for a Baltic country, although he needed to get DoD permission to do it. If you retain a security clearance, the standard caveats also apply.
