And I am 100% against government run healthcare, but I believe what we are seeing in the US is government run healthcare in the sense that many of the health departments, hospital administrators, and even the CDC have been kowtowing to socialist/communist organizations like the WHO. Only in the past few days it is like the CDC/HHS is realizing what a predicament they are in because the communists lied to them, as communists do. The Senate round table today was very eye opening. Still looking for a link of the whole thing. Basically it was doctors and scientists telling the Senate that were in big trouble.
If this breaks out of containment, its not going to matter what kind of healthcare system we have.
There are simply not enough beds (let alone ICU beds) in our hospitals to handle this.
I would think that the Visiting Nurse folks would be ramping up to provide some care to home bound people.
Also, I would think that skilled nursing facilities and PACE facilities could operate as temporary non-critical locations.
I know in my city of 150,000 the Emergency Management group has remote facilities for dozens, not hundreds. And I know our group acts as back up for our region of about 400,000 people.
It is my opinion that people looking for the CDC, WHO, FEMA or any other governmental service to take care of this are going to be sadly mistaken.
Based on the current growth OUTSIDE China, a simple trend line has the cases between 1500-2000. And we have seen when it gets that large, its going to be difficult to contain.
