Seems like it to me. It also seems that Barr just confirmed the President’s tweets as valid.

If this is Kabuki then it's brilliant.
Barr appears to be siding with Democrats about Trump 'interfering' with Barr. This then throws Democrats off guard believing Barr is on their side
During the scheduled hearing Barr can then say, 'Yes, I believe Trumps' tweets are inappropriate but in this case his tweet did not interfere in any way'.
Democrats lose.
We'll have to wait and see.
