Obama raised taxes, spent nearly $1 trillion on a so-called stimulus plan, increased regulations and signed a new entitlement program known as "Obamacare." Reagan did the opposite. He decreased taxes and continued deregulation.

Trump also lowered taxes and decreased regulations

“Dems’ New Talking Point on the Trump Economy: Obama Built It”

But they are also saying that this economy “isnt that great” and “isnt working for everyday people”.

I’m sure they also cant tell us precisely what Obama did to make an economy come to life ONLY AFTER HE LEFT OFFICE.

“The new normal” was the cry of the Obama administration. “Where’s the magic wand?” Remember that one?

Obama deserves some credit. Without him Donald Trump would not have been inspired to run and America would not have been saved.

The Dems are absolutely correct. The destructive effects of the Obama policies destroyed vast swaths of the US economy. They drove us into the abyss out of which , they assured us, we could not return.
The depths to which we sank under Obama are in stark contrast to the enormous growth policies of Trump. Without Obama’s failure, Trump’s success would not be as outstanding. Give credit where credit is due. Obama has made Trump look very, very good.

The ONLY positive economic growth that can be attributed to Obama is his own.

I’ve had this same argument from relatives. I have a Ph.D. in economics and have taught graduate-level courses and have tried to explain Friedman’s concept of Realized Expectations to them to confirm that 3-year old economic policies, most of which were horrible, are NOT responsible for the growth we’re seeing today. I might as well be talking to a fence post. In one argument, I even got this response: “That might be, but I don’t believe it!” whereupon they spin on their heels and stomp out of the room.

The GOP needs to fend off this argument NOW! The general voting public is not smart enough to ferret out the truth here, and point out that, if the Federal gov’t announced a new 10% tax cut to individuals and businesses that takes effect 6 months from now, both groups would start altering their spending and investment plans today, not 6 months from now. The Obama policies are so far in the rear view mirror that they have little, if any, effect today...thank God!

This economy is definitely not Obama’s recovery (2018)

That train’s done left the station. They’ve tried this line of reasoning several times but always falls flat.

LOL! Mr. Elder, very funny.

The man child has never built anything in his life other than the possibility of a mud hut. You are correct. The talking points must have been in short supply the day they thought of this one. It has been heard more than once. Upon hearing, those present tend to break out in laughter or fury that they’ve been ‘unmasked’ as the liars they are.

Toasted marshmallows. On a stick (Barry had no ‘magic wand’).

Of course, then please explain why the Democrats are complaining about it instead of praising it,and while they are at it please explain why Obama himself said manufacturing jobs were NEVER COMING BACK,and quipped, what’s Trump going to do,use a magic wand?

Yeah, sure, Obama was working day and night on improving the economy. We know this because he told us the manufacturing jobs were gone and they weren’t coming back. When candidate Trump pledged to bring them back, Obama’s absurd response was, “What is he going to do, wave a magic wand?” Now you know the rest of the story. Obama did not think they were coming back, therefore he was not doing anything to bring them back. None of President Trump’s economy can be attributed to anything Obama did. To the contrary, Obama squandered the stimulus bucks on political cronyism for his pals—Solyndra and others.
