Is it possible that Stone’s defense team knew she was biased but didn’t challenge her, thinking that the presence of a biased juror would be grounds for appeal or mistrial? Then again, that “strategy” might lead to the conclusion that the defense was incompetent, which can also be grounds for appeal, but most lawyers don’t want that on their records.
