Two senior CPC officials were fired within hours of each other today:
Jiang Chaoliang was sacked today and replaced by Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong, an ally of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Chaoliang was Hubei Provincial Committee’s Party Secretary from 2016.
Also shown the door was Ma Guoqiang, formerly the Party Secretary for Wuhan city.
