How many drugs will not be imported because they’re not being manufactured because the Chinese factory workers are in quarantine?

FDA regulations on pharma manufacturing are so severe it is an easy option to use other countries to do it. So while you are bashing “Big Pharma” for whatever, note that its your fedgov that has created this unreasonable environment for which to product these important products.

To avoid some of these issues I try to stock up in advance.

But 1) doctors forcing you to wait til your sick to give you an Rx for antibiotic. You can’t have it on hand.

2) insurance will only pay for 30 days at a time

BUREAUCRACY KILLS YOU.

I've read that 97% of antibiotics used in the US are imported from China but I've also read that only 25% of the drugs consumed in the US are from China. Which is accurate? Accurate for a month, a quarter, the past year?

Given that India and China can both produce nearly any medication, it could be that where medication comes from varies from month to month depending on who the low bidder is that month. I also think big pharma has a lot of smoke and mirrors in place so it's difficult to actually tell where their products come from at any given point in time.

The Chinese contribution to human welfare is immeasurable and China’s role will only grow larger in the decades ahead.

There was the case of Valsartan - made in both India & China. Turns out they had reside of rocket fuel and were causing many types of cancer. No oversight, no testing and thousands of Americans dead or dying.

It’s like everyone has forgotten what the Chicoms did to DOG FOOD. Why would anyone expect them to not cheat on the much more profitable pharmaceuticals?
