Putin is the worst of the old Cold Warriors. He can’t see any options other than opposing the US. It’s a shame too, because it would be in the interest of Russia to integrate into the West.

Never going to happen with a KGB guy running things. He simply holds on to his power by pretending they are still a superpower. They have no economy relative to a serious power. Oh, he can poke states and flyover carriers and simple Cold War BS like that. But he is fairly impotent less his old KGB tricks.

The Russian people suffer economically and with the freedom and rights that Putin sees fit to allow them to live under.

You are repeating left wing media and no substance to back these claims.
Russia had pretty much good relations with US until after Bush started to plan missiles in East Europe.
Which made no sense because as you say ‘Russia is not a serious power’.
What freedoms and economic suffering Putin caused upon Russian people? They have more freedom and economic opportunities than ever before current regime. If you want to argue it I want to hear facts, not manifests.
All Western-tied regimes around to the countrary are sunken in corruption and poverty. Not a good advertising of American influence. If you want it to expand call your representatives to fix it.
