There are currently 42,729 confirmed cases worldwide, including 1013 fatalities.
Saw a tv commercial to get $400 off a cruise ticket a couple days ago. Getting sick and maybe dying vs. $400. Decisions, decisions.

Sky News can confirm two male prisoners are being tested for suspected coronavirus at HMP Bullingdon in Oxfordshire
Well, just in “normal” times we have 3/4 weeks supply on hand, which can be stretched out quite a bit. If it gets so bad we can’t get bags of chicken food delivered in a month, or cannot arrange some sort of relatively safe pickup, we (and everyone else) will have a lot bigger problems to worry about!
Well, the chickens ARE food on the hoof...
(minor distinction)
:-)
the use of aspirin (and possibly a lack of vit c) killed the Spanish flu folks. They took ‘em by the handful. Suppressed fever allowed the virus to run rampant, aspirin inhibited mucus clearance, aspirin overdose thinned blood resulted in ARDS, cardiac and kidney issues, and the more aspirin they took, the faster it was over. (hm..sounds familiar)
The admitted patients in Wuhan were given antibotics (which wiped out their good bacteria) and vitamin shots - one or both in an IV. SOP for Chinese for some crazy reason, but the combo thins the blood and kills half the body’s natural defenses. I don’t know if they suppressed the fever, but with two strikes they didn’t get off to a good start imo.
When the patient in Washington state (the one in the NEJM paper) developed pneumonia initially, we started him off on IV vancomycin and supplemental O2. That literally did nothing and the next day he was way worse. He got the gilead compound via IV and within 24 hours no longer had to have supplemental O2
That too, if desperate. But the eggs are great to have.
Any extra roosters could be in trouble. We have one really handsome cockerel coming along - super friendly too, but his “mongrel” bloodlines for good egg production from any progeny are suspect. (Racism and reverse sexism?)
Roos are burglar alarms.
Yeah, I always wonder about Dr’s prescribing antibiotics for colds.
At 3 am for no good reason...
Interesting.
True.
But if a stranger sets foot on my property, at any time, the roos usually let me know about it. The dogs notwithstanding. Sets up quite the ruckus.
Every time there’s the least little illness going around, we’re always out of IV saline. One would thinks we’d be able to have an over abundance. Geez, it’s just saline.
There goes every last globull warming argument.
Elevator.
America should count it’s blessings that you all had gilead’s AV and thought to try it on the first case in the door. Otherwise we’d still be chasing our tails.
