I went to very good public schools. You know, when they were still good.

Very, very good in fact.

But if I had to list historical figures that I was poorly educated about, Napoleon (and Hitler) would top the list. Hitler was recent history when I was in school, so that’s understandable.

But Napoleon was important, transformational in fact, and all we learned was that he was short and had a stupid hat.

Sad.
