A Progressive commentator says the Iowa caucuses spell the end for Democrats
American Thinker ^ | 02/10/2020 | Andrea Widburg

One of the astounding things after the 2016 election was the Democrats’ failure to engage in self-reflection to understand what they did wrong and figure out how to improve. Instead, they’ve indulged in a three-and-a-half-year orgy of blaming everything (mostly the Russians) and everybody (mostly Trump), for their election failure. Matt Taibbi, who writes for the Progressive Rolling Stone magazine, is one of the few Progressives who has managed to resist this impulse.

Taibbi consistently looks at the Democrat party with the eye of a man who wishes he could fix it, rather than someone who is looking for a scapegoat to relieve the party of responsibility for its failings. In his latest outing, though, Taibbi seems to have given up hope. He’s no longer trying to be a reformer; he is, instead, a Cassandra, looking into the future and chronicling what he sees as the inevitable death of the Democrat party. It is a scathing look at the dying convulsions of the world’s oldest continuously existing political party.

The article begins with some optimistic Bernie Bros looking forward to the outcome of the Iowa Caucuses, something they assume will end in Bernie’s favor. All of them, says Taibbi, ended up in Bernie’s camp because they felt betrayed by the system and believe that Bernie, betrayed as well, is their political avatar:

Two elements are near-constants in Sanders crowds: life experience with a broken system (Grace told a story of corporate-captured regulators killing an animal rights bill he worked on), and feelings of sympathy for a Senator also seen as getting the short stick from establishment cheats.

For these voters, 2020 is about revenge.

As if that would be a bad thing? There are plenty of scum out here to keep it alive.

KEY PARAGRAPH OF TAIBBI’s ARTICLE:

What happened over the five days after the caucus was a mind-boggling display of fecklessness and ineptitude. Delay after inexplicable delay halted the process, to the point where it began to feel like the caucus had not really taken place.

[snip]

No matter what result emerges, it’s likely many individual voters will not trust it. [snip] [T]he overall impression was a clown show performance by a political establishment too bored to worry about the appearance of impartiality.

He is correct. The BernieBros know they got SCROOOOOOOOD again. They are going to walk away from the Democrat Party. Bernie is too old for a third run, but his supporters will form the core of a new American Socialist Party (God help us).

If only. But Democrats have the ideological fallback that their looniest ideas have never worked because the wrong people were in charge coupled with the everpresent illogical belief that whoever they are at the moment they will be the right people to make it work THIS TIME.

As a result of successful indoctrination and a society obsessed with how fun sin can be there will be enough maleducated and amoral people to keep electing far Left wing Democrats till Christ returns.

The LEFT did nothing wrong. It was Trump that did everything wrong by having the temerity to WIN! Just ask any one of them.

If they really cared about Bernie, they would let him exit politics now. Hopefully he gets good health and more real estate from it.

Let's hope that the Party of Hate, Violence, and Evil will be dumped into the garbage dump of history permanently and forever!

This is the "party" that has parasitized the American People and has championed every evil from slavery, the ku klux klan, and the Cherokee Trail of Tears to voter fraud, illegal immigration, open borders, the Steele Dossier, infanticide, sexual perversion, "impeachment," and the 4-year-long coup d'état attempt!

This is what brought the DEMOCRATS' HATE, VIOLENCE, and EVIL to the boiling point and exposed them, blatantly and overtly, before history and all the world:

"The party's over. I'm going to clean up Washington."

We have been in the Third Party System since the 1850s. (The first two were Federalists vs. Republicans or Democratic-Republicans, and Democrats vs. Whigs.) From time to time a party does so poorly it might appear to be doomed but they always bounce back--think the Republican Party in the 1930s.

The Democrats have a remarkably unappealing set of candidates running this year. (Tulsi is the only one who may be pleasant to be around, not that I would ever consider voting for her, and she has no chance of ever being the Democrats' Presidential nominee.) Maybe by 2024 they will find a glib candidate like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama who can slither into office before the voters realize they are being sold snake oil.

The Republicans will also have a problem in 2024 assuming Trump is re-elected and the Democrats don't resort to violence to end his Presidency before Jan. 20, 2025. Pence may not be a strong enough candidate to win on his own. The Swamp faction within the Party will be trying to regain control. The impeachment battle did highlight some promising Republican Members of Congress but whether one of them might emerge as a good bet for nomination in 2024 is hard to say. The establishment will work to undermine anyone who might be seen as continuing Trump's policies.

The Left has a serious problem. They don’t want Trump to win but in order to do that they have to force Bernie out of the running...as a Democrat...but they can’t prevent him running as a third party candidate, which he most definitely will after the 2016 coup against him by Hillary. As a third party candidate he will siphon off a significant number of the Democrat voting wackos and guarantee a Trump victory. The only solution for the RATS would be if Bernie committed arkancide.

Personally I think we are going to witness an historic division into four parties.

- A new American Socialist party
- A rump Democrat Party pushing corrupt cronyism, etc.
- A new MAGA Party
- A rump Republican Party, which will be very RINO-y and the smallest of the four.

How this will work out in practicality is a big question, as our Constitution is not well-suited to parliamentary government (and pretty much any effective government would have to rely on negotiated deals between the parties).

And the Rolling Shill author cited merely does the same thing, which is to scapegoat -- but like all Berniebots, blames those hidebound old apparatchiks of the DNC..

“and feelings of sympathy for a Senator also seen as getting the short stick from establishment cheats.”

A bit like having sympathy for the devil because he got screwed by Satan.

It’s worth the read. I was struck by the complaints of voting irregularities. It’s just what the Dems do. They do the same thing in the general that they do to Sanders. With little cover, and no shame.

Yes, the Dems have sold out, it’s nice to have one of their own notice.

Forming a new party would/will be an amazingly difficult process.

Secession of a very conservative/leftist state or states might be easier—not kidding.

I can not believe minorities vote for Democrats after the evil history of Democrats using minorities for experimentation throughout history.
