Is dumping Donald Trump for Democrats worth a recession?
The Hill ^ | February 9, 2020 | Kristin Tate

...

What would fear of Sanders in the White House mean for the economy, even before the election? If he enters office with a Democratic Congress, he could accelerate the national transition from a relatively free market to a planned economy, with direct and indirect state control of the means of production. His Marxist views have altered little in the last five decades.

Both Main Street and Wall Street would price in these potentials, and if Sanders runs away with the Democratic nomination and leads in general election polls against Trump, the economic results would be frightening. Money would flee to greener pastures in offshore accounts, commodities, or even under mattresses. Growth is the well from which both economic opportunity for the middle class and tax dollars spring. The specter of a socialist victory would seriously damage the current economic boom.

For all the talk of billionaires being harmed by socialist policy, the rich have financial flexibility to take their assets out of danger. Middle class workers, however, would be much more exposed to the repercussions of capital flight. A very steep decline before the election would mean stock market disaster, leading to layoffs similar to the months prior to the 2008 election of Barack Obama. Millions of jobs would be on the hook, hours slashed, and exposure to the stock market for average Americans would be seriously diminished. In a sense, the risk intended toward “millionaires and billionaires” would, shall we say, trickle down to hurt the rest of us.

Sanders said he would force publicly traded and many privately owned companies to fork over 20 percent of their equity to a workers council. The plan is shockingly similar to the platform of erstwhile Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

In addition to correctly labeling Sanders as a communist, we need to explain what how his election would immediately affect Americans in practical terms.

Tate is the author of The Liberal Invasion of Red State America (2020) and HOW DO I TAX THEE? A Field Guide to the Great American Rip-Off (2018).

Don’t forget about the other communist, Peter Buttigieg.

I still, after all these years, do not understand why they hate him.

Democrats would hand over America to China to get rid of Trump.

Because they can't control him

This attempt to displace Donald Trump with Bernie Sanders, or another of his political persuasion, would amount to cutting off your own head to spite your face. There would be no quick revival even if by some unusual chain of events, Bernie or his surrogate were replaced with a new leader not tied to a command-and-control form of government.

Once socialism in any of its forms takes over the imagination of a country, it is a slow and laborious effort to excise that ideological cancer from the popular acceptance and restore the original dream of the Great American Experiment, governance by a representative republic subject to the will of the people with elections at regular and frequent intervals.

Someone like DJT doesn’t come around very often. There are so few transformational leaders of the world by many measures. I thank God everyday that DJT stepped up for his country.

A recession? Psh! Scare mongering!

Besides, it’s okay, because Bernie will give us huge safety nets and welfares. We can all live off the endless monies of the one percent.

/s (maybe)

Yesterday it was reported that 62% dems would favor extinction of the planet over Trump’s re-election. Recession is no problem.

Oh stop it already. Everyone knows that the left are socialists and communists. There is not mistake about that. Screaming it from the rooftops just annoys everyone.,

What are Republicans though? What are THEY FOR? Too many of them have been crony capitalists and globalist shills. Romney, Bush and McCain and Ryan and those folks have left a stain on conservatism.

What Republicans are FOR is the important message that has not been getting across because while Trump believes it and has been living it, GOPe still doesn't like it. Once you believe America first is not in your self interest all the rest follows, like a party that Trump voters themselves are on a hair trigger to leave in the dust. The actual purpose and identity of the Republican party is the really crucial issue. Choose right at the Democrats are dust. Choose wrong and we are all ruined.

Romney chose wrong. There are others who would like to follow, but they are afraid of US, as well they should be.

This is not a question. This is a description of their central plan. The democrats have been working with all efforts for nearly 4 years to crash the economy. As soon as the markets took off with the election of Trump, they have thrown everything they have had into destroying the advancement of America. When real policies began to kick in, they activated these impeachment sideshows to enable them to hide their dirty work.
DEMOCRATS WANT SUBJECTS NOT CITIZENS!

Half of America dying on bloody streets isn’t too high a price.

It’s not like they wouldn’t kill us in gulags or re-educate us to death anyway.

It’s what communists do.

PS - no sane politician insults those he is trying to convince with "trickle down." I am not going to agree to be some gazillionaire's gardener. In a free economy there are other ways to create and be productive and earn a reasonable living without shining shoes for the rich.

Trickle down is more communist than it is capitalist free market. In a free market, I can raise pigs and you can trade me lumber cut from your own forest and a blacksmith can trade me nails and no fabulously wealthy person need be involved.

And no I am not denying the value of capital and organization in increasing output and efficiency.

Take a look at China. We will be in recession by the summer if they don’t fix this problem.

Didn’t a bunch of democrats/socialists decide they’d rather be annihilated by a giant meteorite than have Trump win 2020?
