Buttigieg was for Sanders before he was against him.

That was a scholarly piece, I mean to tell you. Bernie Sanders must have made a HUGE impression on the young Peter Buttigieg, as that was a political love letter if ever there was.

Gushing is perhaps Mayor Pete’s most distinguishing trait, as he pulls no punches in hailing the virtues of those he admires most. And in 2000, the young Peter Buttigieg saw no wrong in the world view of Bernie Sanders.

But of course, Mayor Pete is much evolved from that young and idealistic child.

That happens when the goal posts are in continual movement.

Interesting. He had already decided that he was “different” and equated that as non-conformist and so sought out different characters as role models.

He chose poorly.
