A massive firework launched over a Colorado ski resort town has set a record for the world's largest aerial firework. The 2,800-pound (1,270-kilogram) shell flew 2,200 feet (671 meters) above the Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival before it burst, turning the sky bright red and drawing gasps from the crowd,

Any avalanches?
Once saw the break up os an incoming meteor that looks something like that - imagine from where the firework is detonating over to the right edge (another peak) fill in the gap with the same sort of burning tumbling fire moving across to sky for 15 minutes ... No one ever explained just what that was, even though it was seen dimly by the people in the cities - the explanations did not fit what was seen
2,800 pounds. Hard to imagine.
2800 pounds.
That’s like the size of an automobile.
In other parts of the world that would’ve been called a Scud.
That wasn’t one of the fireworks hillary was going to use to celebrate Trump’s crushing defeat?
Great film clip.
Have not seen it before.
Thanks for the memory. Very funny those Coneheads.
Plowing snow here in the Bitterroots almost daily. Getting damn tired of winter.
Pretty sure the shockwave off that you could feel in your cajones.

62 inches, 5 feet 2” diameter, out of a 26’ long mortar. Little off on the internal fuse by probably 2”. Video is here: https://www.steamboatpilot.com/news/biggest-in-the-world-record-setting-firework-launch-succeeds-in-steamboat/
Biggest one I ever launched was 48 inches. Man, you felt that one going up almost as much as you felt it going off in the sky. (we were off on the internal fuse by about an inch short, that puppy was still WELL on it’s way up when it went off.)
It’s all math, but wow, good choice in color.
They could put this thing on a target over the horizon.
Video of them shooting is here
The battleship Missouri could fire 90 Volkswagen sized shells before the first one hit. The B52 could haul 100 five hundred pound bombs. The MOAB was 10,000 pounds No record for me.
Great post.
LOL!
Never even thought about a You Tube video.
For later.
