Steele wrote the thing himself. There were no “sources”. Sergei Skripal was an associate of Steele’s employee. He was living in the same place. He had a long history of association with Steele and lived nearby after Russia expelled him from prison in a spy swap in 2010. He was used to give Russian “flavor” to the report.
His “nerve gas” (fentanyl) poisoning rubbed out a loose end who could decide to talk if he needed to. He had a long history as a double agent which means neither side really trusted him.
Steele is full of crap.
I believe Steele admitted in court he used a CNN blog as a source! So yes it is made up of BS.
Most of the dossier came from Glenn Simpson and Mary Jacoby writing business gossip for the Wall Street Journal when DJT was just a developer.
Steele was just used to update it and falsify Russian sources.

I challenge Mr. Steele to travel to the United States, where he will promptly be arrested on espionage charges, and questioned on the disappearance of Professor Joseph Misfud.
I do believe that our CIA may know of his location.
