UC Berkeleys Boalt Hall is no more, its name removed from the law school today (Thursday, Jan. 30), campus officials announced. The denaming the outcome of a nearly three-year process launched after a Berkeley lecturer discovered the racist writings of John Henry Boalt, a 19th century Oakland attorney is the first time a Berkeley facilitys name has been eliminated due to its namesakes character or actions.

Boalt Hall School of Law finally written out of existence. What happens when you have crazy leftists and transvestites take control of your institutions, and rewrite the actual history of institutions. This article is full of false statements. I would point out that no actual Chinese law students (from China, or other parts of Asia for that matter) were consulted or part of this process. They were all American leftist race activists.

Damn. At this point, about the only positive thing about the Berkley Law School is the name Boalt.
Everyone I know simply refers to the school as Boalt
This ain't gonna fly with a lot of the alums

“UC Berkeley removes racist John Boalts name from law school”
I like it! First he’s denied a chance to testify, and now this!

Two observations:
1. Racist is an opinion, not a finding of fact
2. Does John Boalt get his money back, with interest? If I were an heir I would insist on it

Another example of revisionist history. Boalt was a product of his times, again Leftists are trying to use todays thinking and such to make it retroactive to the past.

Convict a dead man without giving him a chance to defend himself.
So much for due process.

Like all totalitarians, due process consists only of the person's whose guilt is pronounced in their "Proclamations." LOL
They proclaimed the person guilty, so therefore that person is guilty. LOL

That’s what they do. They are critical of historic figures who didn’t have a 21st century politically correct outlook, or violated today’s political correctness in some way.
Carried to extremes, all places or institutions named for historic figures will have to be expunged with such criteria. Everything will be named for Obama or Martin Luther King and a handful of others, under such criteria.

John Henry Boalt had his name up there for 60 years. He had a good run.

If they could only realize that what they are doing is the same exact fate that awaits them too. But they are not smart enough to figure that out.

The city of Berkeley was named after Bishop George Berkeley, who owned a handful of slaves when he lived in America. Thus, the city and the university are named after a slave owner. I believe the city and the University should immediately change their names, to disassociate themselves from this racist past.
