A bill sponsored by Sanders and socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., would ban hydraulic fracturing, better known as fracking, by the year 2025.
If Sanders becomes president, you can bet that he would work hard to turn this destructive legislation into the law of the land.
Fracking is the key to the energy revolution that has turned America into an energy powerhouse and drastically reduced our need to import oil and natural gas from other countries.
America gets half its oil and two-thirds of its natural gas from fracking. The abundance of our domestic energy – responsibly and safely produced through fracking – undergirds our entire economy. That’s because everything manufactured, grown and transported requires energy.
Fracking is a process by which a combination of water and fluids is injected into rock thousands of feet underground, releasing the hydrocarbons (oil and natural gas) trapped within. The fluid is so safe that former Colorado governor and unsuccessful Democratic presidential candidate John Hickenlooper, who is a geologist, actually drank it. A publicity stunt, sure, but it made the point.
Fracking is not new. Americans discovered it during the Civil War and it became common in the 1930s. But in recent years we’ve gotten really good at it. We’ve perfected the technology, and now we produce more oil and natural gas than any other nation on Earth. This could not have happened without the widespread use of fracking.
Taking more than 50 percent of our energy out of production would be a disaster. Basic economics tells us what happens to the price of something when the demand stays constant and the supply is drastically cut. Prices would skyrocket for everything requiring energy to produce – meaning everything we buy, not just energy itself.

We have achieved energy independence, more or less. Only a few years ago this seemed like an impossibility.

We have also achieved extremely low levels of emissions in our energy industry, so of course they are moving the goalposts.
I am retiring in 2024. After that dhims can do whatever they want. I hope they get everything they wish for
It just dawned on me - Democrats never want to build anything. All they want to do is BAN things and tear things down. The UK announced that they want to tear out EVERY natural-gas fired furnace and appliance in the ENTIRE country in a few years.
The left yammered for years about energy independence - the president’s team needs to find some old footage. Americans always went to war “for the oil”. Man, you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t with these nitwits. Being energy independent was always a big issue for them.

I have to admit that I’ve wanted these bozos who think the left is the answer to experience what it will really bring about, but it takes a fair bit of time and too many suffer.

We have millions in this country who've never done anything useful in their miserable lives AND who actually 'think' this way.
how much is Iran and/or China paying them? because ending fracking in the US and Canada will be to the direct benefit of the above. Reliance of foreign oil compromises our national security. (just like relying on China for medical supplies compromises our national security)
But until AOC and her ilk start walking to work, and sitting without electricity at work, and without heat at home, when they stop ordering online or even shopping at stores and eating at restaurants, they’re just blowing thee not me hot air

They have a track record of promoting a new “green” energy source until substantial money has been spent on it, and then they declare it unacceptable. The end game that the average Joe will have very restricted access to energy in any form, and then only in a communal setting.
