Workers’ rights is NOT the motive for the law. Socialists crave centralization because it makes businesses easier to control and regulate. Consolidation of businesses into great conglomerates lends them to an easier government takeover when the time is deemed right.

From the skilled-labor side of it, regular at-will employment can be great.

Health Insurance costs make the billing side of it wonky now, but getting pay instead of all of the other benefits you never use, or don’t use that year and effectively double up on ones that ARE useful.
