Aaaah! Good to know.
When I do the short judge bios, I use the "judges" pages on Wikipedia.
It's fairly reliable for indicating a "Federalist Society" membership - but I started noticing that there can be what I was calling "affiliates" - jurists who made presentations/talks before the Society, or had been members in the past, or were associated in some way.
That explains things. I knew there were chapters in many, many cities - but was unaware of the extent of the membership.
I do know that Democrat senators on the Judiciary committee get bent out of shape if they catch a whiff of Federalist Society ties in a judicial candidate.
Standard question on their interrogation sheets. The DemoCommies have replaced the ""Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party of the United States?" with ""Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Federalist Society?"
