I say that with all her faults Senator Collins should be commended for her courage.Maine is a deep blue state and I'd wager that the majority....perhaps a substantial majority...of Maine's voters wanted the President removed.But she did the right thing nevertheless.

Maine is not really a “deep blue state.” Trump only lost Maine by 3%, just a fraction less than what he lost the swing-state of Nevada by. He also won Maine’s second congressional district and got an electoral college delegate out of it. If Trump does particularly well this upcoming election, I don’t think it’s outside of reasonable possibility for him to win Maine as a whole, although that would likely depend on third-party candidates and who the Dems end up choosing.
