SEOUL - South Korea reported three new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday (Feb 5), including two South Korean men who attended a conference in Singapore where they both came into contact with a Malaysian man infected with the same virus.
This brings the total number of coronavirus patients in South Korea to 19. One of them, a 55-year-old South Korean man who visited Chinas Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, was discharged on Wednesday, making him the first person in South Korea to fully recover from the virus.
According to the Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the 19th patient is a 36-year-old South Korean man who was in Singapore Jan 18-23 to attend a conference.
He began self-quarantine on Tuesday (Feb 4), after hearing that a Malaysian who attended the same conference was infected with the corona virus, which has killed nearly 500 people and infected more than 24,000, mostly in China.
The Korean man tested positive for the virus on Wednesday evening, making him the second Korean man to be infected in Singapore.
He is now quarantined at the Seoul Medical Center, and contact tracing is underway, the KCDC said in a statement.
Patient No 17, a 38-year-old Korean man, was also in Singapore Jan 18-23, attending the same conference as the 19th patient...

The data is rather thin, but it’s starting to look like it takes 11 days to recover.
The rate of growth of “confirmed” cases seem to be falling, is that real, or is it an artifact of not enough test kits? My money’s on the latter.
Korea has strong healthcare and infrastructure...I hope even still under lefty leadership that is. Prayers! I have family there!
I don’t think we can ever trust any data coming from China.
We’ll see how the numbers go in other countries.
“There’s already a shortage of truck drivers. I ordered an emergency food supply yesterday...supposed to be here Monday or Tuesday but it was hard to find. Many emergency food suppliers are out of stock or have lead times of 2 or 3 months.”
Just go to Sam’s or Costco and spend $200 to $300 on rice and/or noodles. While I’m not one to push carbs (to say the least), the one exception that I make is a doomsday situation like this.
Obviously, you’ll need more, so the best single food is red meat, from a nutritional standpoint, so you may want to get a bit of that (maybe 50 lbs.). I brought Brisket due to its low price and its high fat content (as fat is critical for nutrition - forget all the crap you’ve been told, it’s wrong). If you don’t have enough room in your freezer, consider getting a chest unit, as they only sip power and therefore a small generator will run a long time on a given amount of fuel (just make sure the generator is big enough to start up the freezer unit). I’m estimating that 5 gallons of gas should be able to run my chest freezer and recharge batteries for about 2 weeks. But I would expect power cuts to only happen if it gets really bad.
Needless to say, there’s lot of other, more expensive, food you can get too, starting with canned items...but also just snacks.
All easy to get, for now. And keep in mind, if things do get bad, not only will there be rationing, but you’ll likely have to be waiting in lines, with possibly sick people.
