I heard the news about Rush Limbaugh just a few minutes after I concluded Monday’s talk radio show.
Lung Cancer. Felt like a sucker punch.
Rush is one of my radio heroes – like Paul Harvey – a heartland legend.
He’s one of the good guys in the radio business and a brilliant broadcaster and entertainer.
I’ll never forget the first time I heard the Excellence in Broadcasting Network – finally there was a guy on the radio who said what I was thinking.
He helped me find my voice as a young conservative and a broadcaster. He showed the nation that conservatives could be intellectual, engaging and wickedly funny. Anyone remember the Clinton parodies or Algore or Barack the Magic…
El Rushbo used the hallowed EIB Golden Microphone to channel the voices of conservatives from across the fruited plain – from Ivy League students to Blue Collar workers.
His show to this day is indeed a daily excursion into broadcast excellence. And I’m a proud subscriber to the Limbaugh Letter – one of the best political newsletters in the country.
Rush spent his career standing up for conservatives and standing up for talk radio. And now it’s time for us in the industry to stand alongside America's Anchorman during these difficult days.
Pray for Rush and his wife and the Limbaugh family. And pray for the all the good-hearted broadcasters working behind the scenes at the EIB Southern Command.
The Bible tells us that God’s mercies are new every morning. And I pray that the Good Lord will shower Rush and his family with an abundance of blessings every single day.
We all know that Rush Limbaugh is a fighter. And cancer picked a fight with the wrong talk radio host.
Today – we are all Ditto Heads – even you folks in Rio Linda.
“we are all Ditto Heads...even you folks in Rio Linda.”
I think he might be pushing things there.
Who was that guy that did the parodies? He was awesome. Is he still doing them?
Just replayed the part where our President introduced Rush and the awarding the Medal of Freedom. Cried again. Love you Rush and prayers are being said today for you!
Paul Shanklin.
Dittohead here.
I pulled out my old "Chartered Member of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" coffee cup to honor Rush and to remind myself to pray for him.
The fact that they awarded his medal right there instead of waiting for the regularly scheduled ceremony makes me really concerned about his prognosis. Pray for Rush.
Yea me too. But with that being said, it was the perfect time and place since all of America (well, most of it anyway) was watching. Had it been a private ceremony in the White House, we would have heard very little about it except for FOX....
Good point and probably correct, better and more coverage.
Some may even not know who this guy Rush is and will tune in to find out, hope they get to hear a lot more of him.
MAGA Dittos!
How can the media call Rush a racist? When has he ever exhibited any hint of racism? Is it racist to say he hopes all Americans become the best they can be and succeed? The hateful Democrats’ survival depends on as many Americans as possible thinking of themselves as victims and helpless dependents on government. It’s truly shameful.
Nasty was triggered by the 4 more years chant. I thought she might collapse then.
Yes and it is heartbreaking
“...they awarded his medal right there instead of waiting for the regularly scheduled ceremony makes me really concerned about his prognosis.”
Indeed, cancer can appear suddenly and spread fast.
You don’t have to believe in science — that won’t save you from it.
I just love the charitable response of the meathead. I think it was something like “I just love this fabulous man.”
My mom died six days after diagnosis.
That is my personal frame of reference.
My granddad thought he had beat it.
Spread to bones though and was done in four months.
Hideous stuff, the sooner there is a cure the better for everyone.
Claus Noemi. “If you are driving now, pull over...”
Mega dittos Rush. Godspeed
Isnt Bo Snerdly black? Not that it matters, but I cant image Mr. Snerdly sticking around very long (decades) working for a racist boss.
