Here's the KeyWiki entry for Mitchell:
Parren Mitchell. A few items to add: in 1978, as chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, Mitchell spoke at a press conference representing the Coalition for a New Foreign and Military Policy (CNFMP), an umbrella organization cofounded by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) with member organizations including the National Lawyers Guild, the International Longshoremen's Union, the United Electrial, Radio, and Machine Workers and featuring on its speakers bureau Terry Provance, U.S. delegate to the Soviet-controlled World Peace Council. In 1983, Mitchell endorsed a demonstration against Reagan's Cental American policy called the People's Anti-War Mobilization, organized by the Workers World Party. in 1984, Mitchell was one of the Congressmen supporting an economic program advanced by Gar Alperovitz, a founding fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies. Mitchell requested budget studies from IPS in 1978 and 1982.

Maryland voters in the Baltimore area are heading to the polls Tuesday to choose who will be their partys nominee to finish the rest of the late Rep. Elijah Cummings' term in Congress. And...
The race to fill the seat has become something of a family battle...
It's so hard to keep up with yesterday's news.
