Interestingly, 2 women working in my office had a LOUD argument yesterday morning about the half-time show. One, who is 66, has 4 grandchildren from 17 to 4. She thought the show was completely inappropriate, said there was NO REASON they had to try to make “stripper poles” appear to be normal.
The other, I think is 56, has 3 grandchildren, a bit younger. She seemed to think that anyone who was offended by it was prudish, and “it was just a show”.
We didn’t actually watch it; there was some NCIS re-run going while the half-time show was on.
In my opinion, the half-time show should be family-oriented and not political. But I guess the NFL and performers had other goals.
They (Jennifer Lopez and Shakira) are objectively amazing performers, but they could have afforded to add one or two more articles of clothing to their costume/ensemble. :)
And do away with the politics.
Let’s not forget the NFL sponsored “Racist cop shot my cousin” commercial.
