She was appointed by the Clintons, so I wonder what dirt she had on them.
joking aside, this is very good news. It gets rid of a hard-left partisan Clinton hack on the NY southern district court (Manhatten) which is a cesspool of leftists.
The court has 15 Obama appointed judges, 4 clinton judges, 3 Bush, and 2 Trump appointees with 4 vacancies that Trump can fill with the best that Schumer/Gillibrand will return blue slips for.
She was a senior judge so Trump doesnt get to replace her BUT at least we get rid of 1 more hard-left judge on the bench instead of letting them pollute our country with their "rulings"

During her confirmation proceedings, it was never mentioned that she was a lesbian. Deborah Batts was a trailblazer in every respect: an openly gay African-American woman who became a United States District Judge...

I preferred the 1975 Chevy K-5 TrailBlazer myself. But that's just me.

>> She was 72
Too young these days.
>> an openly gay African-American woman
Arbitrary characteristics, and certainly not an automatic badge of honor.
FWIW, don’t assume the qualities of the average Trump supporter.

I liked Ramcharger best among these.

I knew Judge Batts when I worked at the US Courthouse. Personally she was a very nice lady and respectful of the older judge that I worked for. May she rest in peace.

In June 1994, Batts was sworn in after a smooth confirmation process following her appointment to the bench by President Bill Clinton.Clinton giveth and Clinton taketh away.

Great to hear from someone who actually knew her.
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend’s were.
Each man’s death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
