I just heard him say the bad news. I listen to him almost every day, and I didn’t hear a difference in his voice. I thought that he was going to say he was retiring because he’s 69 and wanted to enjoy a retirement.

Same here. We had a top surgeon in the hospital where I worked. He quit his job as soon as the diagnosis was confirmed (brain cancer) and he was dead 6 months later.

My mom died of cancer.Started in the lung (she was a serious smoker) and then it spread to her brain and liver.Lung cancer tends to metastasize...that's where the real danger is.
