Former Gov. Christie Todd Whitman this weekend assailed her fellow Republicans in the Senate for blocking a call for more witnesses in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
Whitman, a moderate Republican who served as governor of the Garden State from 1994 until 2001, said on Twitter it was “mind boggling” that the Senate would vote, nearly along party lines, to disallow witnesses from testifying in the proceedings.
Trump was impeached by the House last month on charges that he abused power and obstructed Congress as he tried to pressure Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden, using military aid as leverage as the ally fought Russia. He is charged with then blocking the congressional probe of his actions.

She’s dumb. I thought for sure she was the one who started the liberty group. But it was some disgruntled nobody knows republican.

Christie had some good points; I can’t think of a single one for Whitman. She has sided with the Dems on every major policy issue. She can join William “we are all Democrats now” Kristol who can take his warmongering to the Democratic party.
Tell Whitman to go back into the closet where she can enjoy her Democrat Party fantasies, no one wants to hear her nonsense. The adults are back in charge of the government.
If there wasn’t enough evidence in the House, then Trump should not have been impeached. The Senate is a jury, not a prosecutor. This impeachment was an uncooked partisan hack job, doesn’t she see that? (Nancy Pelosi even made celebratory pens for the “solemn” event.)
It not only weakened the office of the Presidency it weakened the nation by increasing the level of political risk. If the markets actually believed these foolhardy Democrats could pull this off - there would have been a crash and possibly a global depression as the last great free economy in the world was destroyed by these selfish bastards. Leave it to the Democrats to tear down institutions in the quest for political power. This is Sanders, AOC, and ANTIFA on steroids. It is a frightening example of subversives abusing the Constitution.
Does Whitman want to play their game.... what about Biden, Ms Whitman, allowing the South China Sea to be militarized over 8 years and did nothing in response - why, maybe Hunter Biden was getting 20% of every company he could buy with Red China’s 1.5 billion - and our foreign policy was sold like a whore on the street. Burisma was the most corrupt company, run by the most corrupt man in the most corrupt nation on Earth, and again Biden sold our foreign policy to enrich his family. A child could see the ham handed political “pay to play” corruption. Yet Christine Todd Whitman refuses to admit that Biden did anything wrong.
Donald Trump had every damn right to ask for an investigation, Burisma itself stole US taxpayer dollars. Biden is corrupt. Had Donald Jr been on that Burisma board, you would be undoubtedly singing a far different song.
Look at your hypocrisy, you so readily accuse Trump of thought crimes, of what “he wanted to do”, that somehow you know his thoughts are corrupt, but when Biden takes millions from corrupt oligarchs - somehow it is quite the opposite - he did nothing wrong. People see through this bullshit. In fact the nation yawned at this crap, because this kind of jackassery is now expected of the do-nothing, book-burning, ANTIFA, woke Democrats - whose policies suck, who are un-electable, but will abuse the law and vandalize our institutions for their own political ends.
Give it up. The Republicans did the right thing cancelling this crap. Don’t let the third graders run the nuclear power plant - it’s not wise.
She knows that the only media narrative left is Trump’s economy, Bernie and Biden corruption. She is just trying to throw out meat like McCain used to do.
She and much of the NeverTrump seemed to have forgotten who got them elected.
