In Texas, we would NEVER hear of something like this. Not that it can’t happen (or isn’t happening), just that the schools are smart enough to not let the parents know.

Can you imagine how a child born in the South — eg. raised to believe that to be born a boy means that he is a male for life, and, to be born a girl means she is a female for life...default belief, not actually taught — could ever relate in such a society, if his/her parents needed to move the family to Washington?
