All of congress should be required to take AMTRACK..then they might get rid of it...or fit it
I never understood the purpose of it?
Is there any line that is still profitable without government subsidies? If so, spin them off into a private company and get rid of the rest that isn’t.
Honestly, AmTrack makes zero sense in a world with air planes.
Amtrack and other rail is used high frequency the DC to Boston corridor
I used to take it a lot when I was in Manhattan
The non stop metroliner used to be now its something else
2 and a half hours at 120 bucks
Its quicker than going to Newark or la Guardia from midtown and then from national into downtown dc
God forbid Dulles or BWI
but beyond selected use areas its not in high demand
